Introduction
The Company is a Defense company based in the UK that develops and sells energy solutions to the military and aid market. The CEO has since 2006 been developing and selling energy solutions in more than 50 countries and has been invited by the MOD UK and NATO to participate in different programs to develop future energy smart solutions for camp environments.
The Company has developed a product that not only provides renewable energy for camps but also provides robust shelter that protect against fragments for material and personnel in Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) normally deployed in inhospitable climates.
Market Opportunity
Government Military departments, facing budgetary pressures, are looking more and more to have renewable energy solutions to their power needs for their overseas operations.
In the last 14 years various governments, including Denmark, UK and the USA have had a significant ongoing presence in Afghanisatan and Iraq.
In the US, for example, the DOD spend USD150bn on overseas bases. In Afghanistan the USA spent between USD10 and USD 16 per Kw of energy. The solution developed by the Company costs USD2.22 per Kw: a significant cost saving.
The Company’s proprietary product is a modular and flexible product that :
• Provides shelter for personnel, materials and equipment.
• Provides protection from fragments.
• Provides renewable energy for the camp from solar panels at a fraction of the cost of conventional energy.
• Helps support migration to renewable energy solutions: USA DOD have committed to generate 25% of energy needs from renewable sources by 2025.
Interest in the product which has had limited testing with the MOD in Cyprus in 2011 has been received from many of the NATO Governments .
Investment requirements
Greencamp are seeking funding of USD 8.4m as follows:
One funding option could be equity at USD3m and debt financing for products built for committed sales of USD 5.4m. For the purposes of this memorandum funding the financial model has assumed equity of USD 8.4m.
Summary
The Company has an opportunity through established contacts to provide product solutions to the Defense and AID market. The company has been founded by an experienced Defense specialist who has worked with the key areas of the various governmental departments in providing solutions to their energy problems for 10 years.
The Company’s product has received positive initial feedback from the military and NATO and potential clients are keen to test the product for eventual use in FOBs.
The investment opportunity is considered to be a sound business opportunity to take advantage of the capital pressures faced by governmental bodies and their migration to renewable energy sources.
