Anthony has over a decade working as a corporate development expert, alongside various roles in the investment banking industry, working inside both retail client and proprietary trading groups. Anthony actively works with accredited investors and institutions to source funding for private and public companies as well as compiling financial models, valuations and M&A strategies. He was named "Top 30 Under 30" in the field of technology and communications for 2014 and has been involved in numerous start-ups and corporate expansions. He accurately predicted that the DJIA would fall below 7,000 during the 2008 financial crisis and advised his clients to purchase silver when it was $17/oz, prior to it's massive price appreciation over $40/oz in 2011. Anthony is a contributor to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and he actively speaks at colleges and universities on the topics of motivation, time management, goal setting, habits, and overcoming adversity to prepare students for the world outside of the classroom.
William Goode, Senior Vice President, Head of Film & Entertainment Finance
William started his career at an international investment bank where he worked his way up from account executive to Head of Private Equity Investments, co-managing a $50mm+ portfolio and building strong relationships with some of the firms largest clients. William specializes in finding alternative investment strategies and forming strategic partnerships between businesses and institutions to facilitate infusions of capital on both the private equity and venture capital side. William is an active public speaker and his most notable work includes speaking at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations about financial literacy and economic processes.
Edwin Forte, Senior Vice President
Ed has been in the financial industry for over 20 years, starting his career on the retail side managing assets for high net worth individuals. He has trained numerous sales teams on selling skills and building client relationships. Ed has also participated in various start-ups, launching a successful mortgage brokerage which was eventually sold to the mortgage division of one of the largest banks in the U.S. He brings a tremendous amount of financial knowledge, business acumen and leadership abilities to the Barenberg team.
Dr. Francis Ashong-Katai, Head of Emerging Markets, Ghana, Africa
Dr. Ashong-Katai has had an extensive 18 year career in finance working in various roles in both insurance and banking. He obtained his BSc. in Banking & Finance from the University of Ghana Business School, his MSc. in Accounting and Finance with Distinction from Manchester Business School in the U.K. and his PhD in Accounting Systems from the University of Azteca in Mexico. Dr. Ashong-Katai is an active speaker and writer and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (U.K), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (U.K.), Performance Measurement Association (U.K), Association of Change Management Professionals (U.S.A), Institute for Manufacturing (University of Cambridge, U.K), and the Centre for Business Performance, Cranfield School of Management (U.K.). He is the representative for Barenberg Capital Partners in Ghana, Africa and responsible for sourcing transactions throughout the African continent..
Rob Kaponyas, Vice President, Business Development
Rob started his career in Telecommunications, Technology and Collaboration 33 years ago at MCI where he was instrumental in the design and sale of the telecom operations network for the Offices of the Israeli Government here in the U.S. that remained fully operational during the Persian Gulf War. Rob also managed and trained numerous sales teams and has extensive experience in business development through consulting work he has done over the past 15 years with clients including Morgan Stanley, Avon, GE, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, NYU Langone, Pepsi, AIG, Barclay’s, Alliance Bernstein, eMusic.com, Lenovo, NBC, Kodak, Starwood Hotels, and Marsh & McLennan.
